How To Look At Animation Timeline In Sfm

In the Move Editor, you can explicitly select a region of fourth dimension to modify. (You can implicitly select time in the Graph Editor by using keyframes.) You can then make modifications to selected controls and utilize them but to that time choice. Alternatively, you tin make the modifications first, and and so, on the fly, conform the time those changes are practical to past adjusting your time selection.

When you offset become into the Motion Editor, all of time is selected past default; yous can tell this because the entire Motion Editor is green (indicating time choice), and because on either side of the Motility Editor, you'll see a vertical greenish zig-zag handle. These are the space time selection handles.

To go into the Motion Editor, click its push (SFM icon MotionEditor.png) in the upper-left corner of the timeline.

To select a region of time:

  • Holding down Shift, drag to select a region of time. The selection turns dark-green.

Or:

  • Drag the space time pick handles toward the center of the Motion Editor to shorten the time option. You lot tin can also drag one infinite fourth dimension selection handle to limit the time selection only on one side.

To select all of fourth dimension:

  • Press Ctrl+A.

Or:

  • Drag the purlieus on either side of the time option all the style to its side of the Motion Editor until it turns back into an space fourth dimension selection handle.

Creating falloffs

You may not want precipitous camera jumps or object animations in your pic. You lot can create a falloff to soften and blend the transitions.

A fourth dimension selection with falloffs has 3 sections: the first falloff (at the beginning), the agree (in the eye, betwixt the two falloffs), and the second falloff (at the end).

Yous can create a falloff in a few different ways:

  • Hover the mouse pointer near the edge of the fourth dimension selection, until the pointer turns into a double-headed arrow (SFM icon DoubleArrow.png). Elevate to create the falloff.
  • With time selected, concord down Shift and rotate the mouse wheel.
  • Property Shift down the entire time, drag (sets the first falloff), release the mouse push button and motility the mouse pointer a little to one side (sets the hold), and so drag again (sets the second falloff).
  • Belongings Shift downwards the entire time, drag to set the concur, release the mouse button, move the mouse pointer back to where you desire the first falloff to brainstorm, and elevate all the way to where you lot want the second falloff to finish.

Afterwards you've created a falloff, you tin drag any of the time selection's edges to arrange it. You can too alter the falloff curve type by pressing one of the falloff hotkeys: 1, 2, 3, or 4.

To quickly adjust falloffs:

  • Holding downwardly Shift, elevate with the right mouse button to the right or left. This will reset the falloff the mouse arrow is closest to.

Scaling a time choice

You can scale a fourth dimension selection past holding down Alt and dragging either of its edges to the left or correct.

Retiming a fourth dimension selection

You tin can retime a time selection (move it backward or forward on the timeline) by holding down Alt and dragging left or right within it.
